First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is actively recruiting PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Shifts run 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with the flexibility to pick up as few as one shift per month or build a fuller schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• AHA BLS Current.
• AHA ACLS Current.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
