Job summary

Five Star Nursing in Rochester, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will deliver intermediate-acuity care to patients transitioning from ICU with cardiac telemetry, IV infusions, and oxygen therapy.

Requirements include a BSN, current RN license, 1 year PCU experience, BLS and ACLS, and EPIC charting proficiency. Local candidates are not accepted; travel from outside a 75-mile radius is expected.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent degree required.
• Minimum 1 year progressive care experience in hospital.
• RN license current; compact license preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications current.
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside >75 miles away.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to intermediate-acuity patients (cardiac telemetry, IV infusions, oxygen therapy).
• Continuously assess patient conditions; escalate when deteriorating and initiate rapid response when needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, PTs, case managers to facilitate mobilization and discharge planning.
• Administer medications, provide wound care and respiratory therapy; document in EPIC.
• Maintain patient-to-nurse ratio around 3–4; uphold safety and infection control standards.
