Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking an RN Clinical Charge Nurse to supervise daily unit operations during night shifts. The role includes overseeing nursing care, staff scheduling, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure safe patient outcomes.

The Charge Nurse will lead an interdisciplinary team, delegate tasks, and support governance models while upholding professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Active RN license (state of Georgia or Multi-state Compact).
• Experience: 1 year nursing required; 2 years preferred; relief charge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily unit activities on an assigned shift.
• Develop staff schedules and manage unit patient flow.
• Coordinate with care teams, physicians, and managers to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Perform rounds with physicians/surgeons and participate in bed flow decisions.
• Lead through evidence-based practice and shared governance initiatives.
