Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate (CNA) to support the care team in Bridgeport Hospital. You will assist with direct patient care under the supervision of the RN, document vital signs, and help ensure timely, quality patient services.
The role requires a CNA credential or equivalent training, high school diploma or GED, and BLS before or soon after hire. Strong English communication is essential for patient interaction and teamwork.

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager (NM) and the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific duties that support patient care. These duties include direct and indirect patient care activities which are essential to providing comprehensive care to patients. This includes providing service excellence by creating a great "First Impression" by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills and positive environment for all customer groups including patients, families/friends, physicians, staff, and support department personnel.
High school diploma or GED required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential, EMT, or other clinical experience in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent educational background, such as completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in a nursing program or completion of their schools Fundamentals Nursing Skills Laboratory, graduation from a Medical Assistant (MA) program, completion of a phlebotomy technician program, or similar healthcare-related training or experience.
Either (A) Two (2) years relevant direct patient care experience as dictated by placement, or (B) Education as stated above. All candidates must successfully complete the Patient Care Associate Competency Based Training and Practicum and unit specific competencies, including age-specific competencies.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training must be obtained prior to employment or within one (1) month of hire. Employee must maintain BLS at all times during employment. If any training expires, the employee will be suspended until it is obtained and documented.
Successful completion of orientation. Speak and write English proficiently. Successful completion of orientation/evidence of positive initiatives with patients and staff.
