Job summary

U.S. Renal Care in California is seeking a Patient Care Technician Trainee to learn direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The trainee will learn how to perform hemodialysis in accordance with Satellite and local center policies and procedures. During training you will take and monitor vital signs, perform blood tests, document patient information, prepare and monitor dialysis equipment, and clean equipment to ensure safe, effective treatments for patients with kidney

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• One year of medical experience preferred.
• CPR certification required; BONENT/NNCC/NNCO certification within 18 months from hire.
• CDPH CHT certification (CA locations) required within 18 months from hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision during training.
• Learn hemodialysis procedure according to center policies.
• Monitor patient vital signs and document information accurately.
• Prepare and monitor dialysis equipment and maintain cleanliness of equipment.

Overview

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Patient Care Technician Trainee (PCT Trainee) will be in training to learn how to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The PCT Trainee will learn how to perform the hemodialysis treatment according to Satellite and the local center's policies and procedures. The care that will be taught will include taking and monitoring patient vital signs, performing blood tests, documenting appropriate patient information, preparing and monitoring dialysis equipment, and cleaning equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: One (1) year of medical experience preferred

Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or equivalent

License/Certification:

• Current CPR certification
• BONENT/NNCC/NNCO certification is required within 18 months from the hire date.
• CDPH CHT certification (for CA locations only) is required within 18 months from the hire date

Pay Range

USD $25.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
