Job summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT II) at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

The MUHA workforce operates on 36 hours per week with 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act in hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum Training and Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility, CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification, or enrollment in a healthcare program with completion of Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant/Nursing Fundamentals course preferred.

Responsibilities

• The PCT provides multi-skilled activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support a patient-centered approach.
