Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to provide skilled nursing support under RN supervision. Minimum requirements include at least 1 year of PCT work experience or nursing-related education, and BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year work experience in a .6fte PCT I position at MUSC CHS or in a health care facility.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
• Maintains patient/family centered care focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment with privacy and professional conduct.
• Participates in shared governance and professional development promoting leadership and clinical excellence.
