Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to perform patient care activities and escalate changes in a patient’s condition to the nurse. The role emphasizes patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and activities of daily living, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Qualifications

• One year of prior patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Proficiency in core PCT competencies per Memorial Hermann guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Direct patient care duties include vital signs, hygiene, toileting, mobility, nutrition, bathing and other activities of daily living.
• Responsible for timely and accurate documentation and reporting any unusual changes to the nurse.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Obtains and prepares laboratory specimens as prescribed within the scope of the role.
• Helps orient new employees as appropriate.
• Ensures adherence to policies and safety procedures.
