Patient Care Technician Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or licensed nursing staff, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides routine, high-quality patient care in accordance with Bradley Medical Center's established policies and procedures. Care is delivered based on the developmental and age-specific needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The PCT assists with activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, and eating, and collects non-invasive specimens and vital signs. They support physicians and nursing staff during procedures when needed and are expected to demonstrate flexibility, cooperation, and professionalism in interactions with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel. In addition to clinical duties, the PCT provides essential clerical support within the nursing unit, maintaining and updating patient records, and ensuring effective communication and coordination within the unit and across departments. They are also expected to participate in performance improvement initiatives and help promote a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in acute care setting or currently enrolled in Nursing Program, preferred.
• Skills: Must be able to read and write English.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
