Job summary

Vitruvian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide routine, high-quality patient care under the supervision of nursing leadership. The role covers pediatric through geriatric needs, including assistance with daily living activities, vital signs, and specimen collection.

Responsibilities include supporting medical staff during procedures, ensuring clear communication within the unit, and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in acute care or current enrollment in Nursing Program preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire.
• Must be able to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine, high-quality patient care under supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, eating) and collect non-invasive specimens.
• Support physicians and nursing staff during procedures and coordinate care with unit staff.
• Maintain and update patient records and perform essential clerical duties to ensure smooth unit operation.

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or licensed nursing staff, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides routine, high-quality patient care in accordance with Bradley Medical Center’s established policies and procedures. Care is delivered based on the developmental and age-specific needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The PCT assists with activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, and eating, and collects non-invasive specimens and vital signs. They support physicians and nursing staff during procedures when needed and are expected to demonstrate flexibility, cooperation, and professionalism in interactions with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel. In addition to clinical duties, the PCT provides essential clerical support within the nursing unit, maintaining and updating patient records, and ensuring effective communication and coordination within the unit and across departments. They are also expected to participate in performance improvement initiatives and help promote a collaborative work environment.

Education:

A minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Experience:

1+ years of experience in acute care setting or currently enrolled in Nursing Program, preferred.

Skills:

Must be able to read and write English.

Licenses/Certifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
