Hackensack MeridianHealth is seeking a Patient Care Technician Apprentice to join our team in New Jersey. This entry path trains you through the HMH PCT Apprenticeship and moves you toward a full Patient Care Technician role with mentored hands-on patient care.

The program includes obtaining AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP certification within the first 60 days and ongoing opportunities for advancement as you complete the apprenticeship and meet requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of the listed programs (CNA/Medical Assistant/PCT) or Nursing fundamentals program or HMHPCT Apprenticeship.
• Equivalent medical background experience (EMT, Home Health Aide, CMA, MA, PCT, Nursing Assistant).
• Note: Eligible for PCT Apprentice Program if not complete but meets other requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-appropriate criteria.
• Ensure safe outcomes through clinical judgment and actions.
• Communicate with patients and health care team about status and care.
• Support interdisciplinary collaboration of plan from admission to discharge.
