Job summary

Catalyx is seeking a PCS Hardware Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and documentation of hardware for Emerson DeltaV DCS projects. You will ensure proper integration with process equipment, instrumentation, electrical systems, and networking while complying with site standards and future expansion plans.

You will collaborate with process, instrumentation and controls, electrical, networking, and equipment teams to deliver robust hardware solutions and maintain comprehensive design

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing PCS/DCS hardware.
• Hands-on with control system cabinets, panels, remote I/O, servers and networking.
• Experience integrating hardware with vendor equipment and packaged skids.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, electrical interfaces, and industrial networking.
• Ability to develop hardware design documents and specs.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or process projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Catalyx is seeking a PCS Hardware Engineer is responsiblefor leading the design, coordination, and documentation of physical hardwarearrangements for the project’s Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS).The role ensures that PCS hardware is properly integrated with processequipment, instrumentation and controls, electrical systems, networking, andfacility layouts while supporting site standards, maintainability, futureexpansion, and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and layout of PCShardware, including cabinets, panels, racks, servers, workstations, networkequipment, and power supplies.
• Coordinate with site automation personnel toalign designs with site standards, operational needs, and the long-termautomation roadmap.
• Review control rooms, equipment layouts, andtechnical spaces to ensure appropriate access, cable routing, environmentalconditions, power, cooling, and maintenance clearances.
• Collaborate with process, instrumentation andcontrols, electrical, networking, and equipment engineering teams to ensureseamless system integration.
• Support long-lead process equipment integration,including vendor-supplied packages, remote I/O cabinets, hardware interfaces,and definition of vendor scopes of work.
• Identify and resolve hardware layout, interface,and integration issues before procurement, fabrication, installation, andcommissioning.
• Develop and maintain PCS hardware designdocumentation and support related project deliverables.
• Coordinate design requirements with theDesign-Build Firm, system integrators, and equipment vendors, serving as thetechnical design lead for PCS hardware.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience designing andimplementing PCS/DCS hardware systems, preferably Emerson DeltaV.
• Hands-on experience with control systemcabinets, panels, remote I/O, servers, workstations, networking hardware, andassociated infrastructure.
• Experience integrating control system hardwarewith vendor-supplied process equipment and packaged skids.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation andcontrols, electrical interfaces, industrial networking, equipment layouts, andsystem integration.
• Experience developing hardware designdocumentation, equipment specifications, interface definitions, and vendorscopes of work.
• Ability to collaborate effectively withmultidisciplinary engineering teams, site personnel, vendors, design-buildcontractors, and system integrators.
• Strong technical problem-solving, coordination,and communication skills.
• Previous experience supporting large-scaleindustrial, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or process engineering projects ispreferred.
