Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced dietitian to lead the North Primary Care Network (PCN) dietetic service. The role balances clinical work with line management, service development, and student training across GP practices and hospital sites.

You will supervise junior colleagues, deliver group and individual dietary education (in person and virtually), and help drive audits and health promotion activities in the local community.

Qualifications

• Recent NHS dietetic experience within hospitals, community or primary care settings.
• Experience supervising junior staff and leading a dietetics team.
• Ability to deliver group and individual dietary education (in person and virtual).
• Strong communication skills across diverse settings and backgrounds.
• Capacity to work as part of a larger team and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Be a key member of the Primary Care team liaising with other health professionals on dietetic management within the PCN.
• Hold a dedicated clinical caseload and triage referrals into the service.
• Line manage the other dietitian in the North PCN team and supervise junior staff.
• Provide staff training and participate in student training and CPD.
• Support service development, audits, and dissemination of findings.
• Deliver health promotion activities on diet and health locally.
• Deliver group education sessions and training for professionals and patients; cover general caseload including weight management.
• Provide cover between GP practices and hospital sites as required.
