Petersen Inc. in Ogden, UT is seeking a PCMM Operator/Inspector to perform PCMM-based inspections with Laser Tracker or articulated arms under the direction of the Quality Manager. You will measure parts in shop and field locations, analyze results, and propose adjustments to tooling and processes for quality improvements.

Candidates should read drawings, understand GD&T, and be comfortable in a fabrication shop environment. The role includes a strong benefits package and on-the-job training.

Formación

• High school education preferred.
• Experience with Laser tracker, Arm, CMM or comparable work history.
• Proficient at reading mechanical, structural drawings and GD&T.
• Proficient computer skills using spreadsheets and word-processing.
• CAD background desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Measure fabricated and machined parts in shop and field locations using PCMM.
• Analyze results and propose solutions to rectify unacceptable conditions.
• Provide calibration services using the PCMMs.

PCMM(Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine) Inspector

Perform Laser Tracker and/or Articulated Arm inspection under the direction of the Quality Manager and/or Inspection Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

• Measure fabricated and machined parts and tooling in shop and field locations using PCMM system.
• Assist production and machining supervisors in providing in-process measurements.
• Analyze results and propose solutions to rectify unacceptable conditions.
• Assist in making adjustments and corrections to parts/tooling/machinery as required.
• Provide calibration services (internal and external) using the PCMM’s.
• Maintain safe work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient at reading mechanical, structural, tooling and aerospace type drawings
• Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ANSI Y14.5.
• Proficient computer skills using spreadsheets and word-processing.
• Working knowledge of coordinate systems
• Working knowledge of lasers and optics
• Working knowledge of articulated arms
• Working knowledge of other inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc.
• Ability to analyze complex geometries and find solutions (CAD background desirable)
• Working knowledge of Verisurf.

High School Education preferred. Experience with Laser tracker, Arm, CMM or comparable work history.

• Requires mobility to access difficult inspection access areas.
• Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to properly use necessary equipment.
• Requires eyesight correctable to within normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions or possible irregular hours.

Working Conditions:

Works in a typical fabrication and machine shop and field site environments. Works in varied conditions, such as outside and inside facility work due to size and complexity of product.
