Job summary

Advantest in New Jersey is seeking a PCB Final Visual Inspector to ensure assembled boards meet quality standards before shipment. You will examine boards under a microscope for workmanship defects and verify coatings and surface finishes.

You will document results, maintain quality logs, and support non-conformance management with production and engineering to reduce repeats and improve yields. English reading/writing skills and good computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a microscope.
• Good close-up vision (with or without corrective lenses).
• Occasional lifting of light materials or panels up to 25 pounds.
• Able to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Visual Inspection: Examine bare boards under magnification (microscopes) for workmanship defects.
• Defect Detection: Check for missing solder mask and features meeting spec.
• Coating and Surface Checks: Inspect for scratches, warpage, pitting, coatings.
• Quality Documentation: Record inspection results and complete lot acceptance sheets.
• Non-Conformance Management: Tag and report defective materials that fail standards.
• Collaboration: Work with production and engineering to address repeat defects and improve manufacturing yields.
