PrideNow is seeking an experienced PCB Layout Designer / Electrical Engineer for our Fremont, CA site. The role focuses on PCB layout for complex, multilayer boards with an emphasis on accuracy and reducing rework.

The candidate should have 10-20 years of PCB design experience and be proficient with Cadence Allegro. You will collaborate with engineers and document best practices while adhering to DFM principles.

• 10-20 years of professional PCB design and layout experience.
• Strong, hands-on Cadence Allegro PCB design and layout experience is mandatory.
• Experience with complex multilayer PCBs and high-density designs.
• Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and manufacturability requirements.

Responsibilities

• PCB layout and routing using Cadence Allegro (80-90% hands-on design).
• Design complex multilayer PCBs including digital, analog, power, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Review schematics and requirements to ensure accurate PCB implementation.
• Perform DRC and quality verification before release.
• Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers on reviews and specs.
• Maintain engineering documentation and Best Known Methods.

PCB Layout Designer / Electrical Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA - 100% on-site, 5 days per week

Duration: Aprox 2 Years

Pay Range: $60.00 - $64.28 / Hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced PCB Layout Designer / Electrical Engineer with 10-20 years of industry experience and strong, hands‑on expertise in Cadence Allegro. The role focuses primarily on PCB design and layout for complex, multilayer circuit boards, with an emphasis on design accuracy, quality control, and minimizing rework.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform PCB layout and routing using Cadence Allegro, dedicating 80-90% of the role to hands‑on design work.
• Design complex multilayer PCBs, including digital, analog, power, and mixed‑signal circuits.
• Review schematics and engineering requirements to ensure accurate PCB implementation.
• Perform Design Rule Checks (DRC) and quality verification before design release.
• Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers on design reviews and technical requirements.
• Maintain engineering documentation and Best Known Methods (BKM).
• Apply design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve product quality and reduce rework.

Required Qualifications

• 10-20 years of professional PCB design and layout experience.
• Strong, hands‑on Cadence Allegro PCB design and layout experience is mandatory.
• Experience with complex, multilayer, high‑density PCB designs.
• Strong understanding of component placement, routing, schematic interpretation, and design constraints.
• Experience with DRC, design verification, and PCB quality control.
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly, and manufacturability requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Semiconductor industry experience, particularly semiconductor equipment or high‑tech hardware.
• Familiarity with Cadence Allegro versions 17.4 or 22.1.
• OrCAD experience and knowledge of digital, analog, and mixed‑signal layouts.
• Knowledge of impedance control, signal integrity, RF design, blind/buried vias, and DDR4 routing.
• Familiarity with Valor reports and component library maintenance.

Interview Process

Candidates must complete a hands‑on Cadence Allegro assessment during the final interview to demonstrate practical PCB layout skills and software proficiency.
