Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end PCB layout execution for complex, high-density server hardware designs.
  • Perform high-speed digital PCB layout for interfaces such as DDR5/LPDDR5, USB 3.2 and higher-speed interfaces.
  • Ensure adherence to impedance, signal integrity, length matching, via optimization, and crosstalk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineers on layout-driven recommendations for component placement and PDN optimization.
  • Lead DFM, DFA, and DFT reviews with fabricators and contract manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities
PCB Design & Layout
  • Own end-to-end PCB layout execution for complex, high-density server and data center hardware designs.
  • Perform high-speed digital PCB layout for interfaces such as:
  • HBM
  • DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5
  • USB 3.2 and higher-speed interfaces
  • Ensure adherence to controlled impedance requirements, signal integrity guidelines, length matching, via optimization, and crosstalk mitigation techniques.
  • Develop and enforce PCB design rules for high-speed digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power domains.
Engineering Collaboration
  • Partner with Electrical Engineers during schematic reviews to provide layout-driven recommendations on:
  • Component placement
  • Signal routing methodologies
  • Power Distribution Network (PDN) optimization
  • Stack-up planning
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to resolve board-level constraints involving:
  • Connector placement
  • Thermal considerations
  • Enclosure integration
  • Layer stack-up architecture
Manufacturing & Quality
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) reviews with PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers.
  • Ensure designs meet manufacturability, yield, reliability, and quality objectives.
  • Drive implementation of HDI design methodologies, including blind, buried, and microvia technologies.
Standards & Documentation
  • Maintain and improve PCB design processes, corporate standards, stack-up libraries, and footprint libraries.
  • Support prototype and production builds through:
  • Layout documentation
  • Net tracing analysis
  • ECO implementation
  • Design revision management
  • Provide layout support during bring-up, validation, and production-release activities.
Skill Requirements
  • 10-14 years of PCB CAD design and layout experience in high-performance hardware development.
  • Mandatory hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Designer v23.1 or later.
  • Advanced proficiency in PCB layout and routing using Cadence Allegro.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD tools for both 2D and 3D design environments.
  • Extensive experience with HDI PCB technologies, including:
  • Blind vias
  • Sequential lamination processes
  • Experience designing boards based on:
  • High-complexity SoCs
  • Microprocessors
  • FPGA-based architectures
  • Proven ability to deliver high-density, high-speed PCB layouts supporting:
  • DDR5/LPDDR5 memory systems
  • Mixed analog and digital circuitry
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed design practices.
  • Deep expertise in Cadence Constraint Editor System (CES) and constraint-driven PCB design methodology.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
  • DFA (Design for Assembly)
  • DFT (Design for Testability)
  • Experience working directly with PCB fabrication houses and manufacturing partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $78000/Year

Pay Range Maximum: $148000/Year

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
