Job summary

Gorilla Circuits is seeking an Overnight PCB Lab Tech Cross Section to join our team to conduct cross-section analysis of PCBs and identify manufacturing defects. The role requires experience in cross-sectioning, sample preparation, and microscopy within a fast-paced PCB manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineers to implement process improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and standards.
• Experience with microscopy and other analytical techniques for material characterization.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as microtomes, polishers, and mounting presses.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IPC standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cross-section analysis of PCBs using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Prepare PCB samples for cross-section analysis, including cutting, grinding, polishing, and mounting.
• Perform microscopy and other analytical tests on cross-sectioned samples to identify defects and evaluate manufacturing processes.
• Document and communicate findings to the engineering team, including recommendations for process improvements.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and properly maintained.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cross-section analysis of printed circuit boards (PCBs) to identify and resolve any manufacturing defects. The ideal candidate will have experience in PCB cross-sectioning, sample preparation, and microscopy, as well as a strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and standards.
