Job summary

Dayton Children's on the Main Campus is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) on a part-time schedule (12 hours per shift) to support nursing staff on the 7th Floor Tower. The PCA will assist in patient care, monitor vital signs, and help with activities of daily living while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has HSD/GED, PCA training or experience, and a willingness to enroll in related healthcare education.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED is required.
• PCA training or PCA experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required.
• 1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting is preferred.
• CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists the nurse in completion of patient care activities, considering patient development.
• Measures and records vital signs, intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides safe transportation and environment.
• Cross trained to support clinical and clerical sides of the business.
