Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship seeks a Patient Care Assistant to assist in individualized patient care under the direction of RN or LPN and to work as part of a cohesive team.

You will perform clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to patient care. Education requirements include a high school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a healthcare program; BLS within one month of hire and PCA competencies within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC. or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Experience: None required.
• Certifications: BLS Required within one month of hire, completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.

Position Details

$1,500 Sign on bonus for Full Time

3E Is The Cardiovascular And Surgical ICU. We Care For All Cardiothoracic, Vascular, General, And Head/neck Surgery Patients Requiring ICU Admission. Some Common Patients We Care For Are

• CABG and Valve Repair/Replacement
• Vascular Stent and Bypasses
• Cardiogenic Shock
• STEMI/NSTEMI
• Radical Neck Dissection
• General Surgery
• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC. or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Experience: None required.
• In the state of practice: If no previous experience, Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program that meets the state of practice Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. The program will be completed as part of the new hire orientation process and must be completed within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCA position per state guidelines.
• Certifications: BLS Required within one month of hire, completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements
• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
