Job summary

Scripps Health in La Jolla is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for a full-time, 12-hour NIGHT shift, on variable days including rotating weekends and holidays. The role supports the Stepdown/Trauma team as a key member of the clinical care team, assisting with daily living activities and data collection.

As part of our highly engaged team, you will contribute to patient comfort and safety while collaborating with clinicians, handling patient logistics, and coordinating nursing support

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care settings preferred.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living and ensures a safe, organized environment.
• Assists with patient care under the direction of a clinician.
• Supports unit logistics, clerical tasks, equipment/supply management, and charge reconciliation.

Job description

This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period, every 2 weeks), position with 12-hour NIGHT shift schedule on variable days of the week which includes rotating weekends and holidays.

Position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

• Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties.
