Position Overview

This position involves performing patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), including clerical and clinical duties related to patient comfort and needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with hospital policies.
• Support patient care by performing tasks such as obtaining EKGs, collecting lab specimens, performing phlebotomy, and preparing patients for surgery.
• Maintain accurate documentation of medical records and departmental logs.
• Ensure supplies are stocked and equipment maintained.
• Follow infection control and sterile technique principles.
• Perform clerical duties as needed.
• Participate in performance improvement and training activities.
• Interact effectively with diverse populations, especially in stressful situations.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma or equivalent, valid BLS certification, and at least one year of relevant patient care experience (e.g., CNA, EMT, CMA, military medical, or nursing student in 2nd or 3rd year).

Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, and sterile techniques is essential. Ability to work under stress, follow directions, and communicate clearly in English is required.

Additional Information

This position offers a sign-on bonus of $3,000, with details provided during the interview. Exemption status is non-exempt, with scheduled hours from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., including every other weekend and holiday rotation.
