About the Position
The PC Support Technician II provides technical support in a service desk environment to a wide variety of users with complex and non-routine hardware and software issues. Support is provided in various modes (phone, remote desktop, in-person) and to users from warehouse staff to C-suite executives. The role also involves ensuring the secure and efficient management of endpoint devices across the organization, deploying and managing endpoints using tools like Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Autopilot, and JAMF Pro, while aligning with security standards. The individual will serve as a resource for escalated issues.
Functions
- Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated IT application issues, including system updates, and communicate solutions to end-users while maintaining logs.
- Provide guidance and training for Tier I and II technicians, leading on complex issues and determining severity for troubleshooting and resolution.
- Manage patch and software distributions, security configurations, and generate system health and compliance reports.
- Oversee Windows and third-party software patching, ensuring security risks are mitigated.
- Document patch deployment processes, including testing, validation, and follow-up remediation.
- Automate routine tasks such as software installations, patching, and reporting to improve efficiency.
- Deploy, configure, and manage endpoints across various operating systems and device types using Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and JAMF Pro.
- Implement and enforce security policies via Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
- Collaborate with Network, Security, System, and Help Desk teams to ensure smooth endpoint management operations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for endpoint management and security projects.
- Provide on-call support after hours and participate in rotating weekend schedules.
- Perform other duties related to endpoint management and patching.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in a tech role.
- At least 3 years of high-level computer support experience in a corporate setting.
- Advanced skills supporting and configuring MAC and Apple products; MAC certification is a plus.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Experience supporting hardware peripherals (computers, printers, RF equipment) in a network environment.
