P/C Senior Actuary

Job summary

Veracity Ventures Inc. in Bloomington is seeking a senior P&C actuary for a hybrid role. You will analyze data to support rate adjustments, reserve estimates, and economic capital models while assisting filings with state insurance departments and implementing new pricing plans.

The ideal candidate has ACAS (or near), is pursuing FCAS, and will contribute to data analytics, risk management, and product profitability analyses across property/casualty lines.

Responsibilities

• Researches and analyzes data to produce rate adjustments, reserve estimates, or economic capital models.
• Supports filings with state insurance departments; implements new rates and rating plans using existing procedures.
• Analyses data for actuarial or product line management solutions.
• Maintains actuarial credentials through CE credit and pursues CAS designation.
• Serves as a representative for Property/Casualty actuarial projects on defined committees.

This role is not open to fully remote work, as the site location is Bloomington IL. However, Bloomington employees have flexibility to work from home 2 days per week and onsite 3 days per week.

The ideal candidate will possess strong Property & Casualty insurance experience, have achieved ACAS designation (or be very close to obtaining it), and be actively pursuing FCAS credentials.

Researches and analyzes various types of data to produce rate adjustment proposals, reserve estimates or economic capital models; and/or actuarial support for filings with state insurance departments; and/or to implement new rates and rating plans, using existing procedures, recommending changes where appropriate.

Analyzes data towards developing and proposing solutions for actuarial or product line management.

Pursues a Casualty Actuarial Society designation at least through Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) level.

Maintains appropriate Continuing Education credit to maintain Actuarial credentials.

Researches and analyzes data for special projects within a defined scope. Serves as Property/Casualty Actuarial representative for project committees as assigned.
