- Physical requirements: This is sedentary and operative work requiring the exertion of up to and exceeding 50 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

Job Summary: To configure, install, maintain, and perform related support of Windows-based personal computers, two-way radios, pagers, VoIP phones, mobile devices and other network hardware and software deployed within all County offices. Assists, trains, and provides technical support to computer users and department employees as required.
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential duties:
- Resolve assigned technical problems (hardware and software) in a timely and cost-effective way by performing on-site diagnosis of problem(s), deciding on course of action, making repairs and/or coordinating outside services for repairs or parts, and maintaining appropriate inventory of spare parts and equipment
- Minimize computer system down time by performing routine trouble shooting techniques and developing and carrying out appropriate preventative maintenance schedules for equipment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed
- Set up computers for new employees and conduct an introductory meeting with them as they begin work with the county
- Troubleshoot computer peripheral issues for current users
- Move user computers and related equipment from one office to another
- Ensure that new or relocated equipment is installed properly and functioning as designed
- Ensure that hardware and/or software upgrades are installed properly and functioning as designed
- Contribute to effective network and systems performance and reliability by assisting in the planning and design of equipment strategies and making recommendations to a supervisor for changes and improvements
- Diagnose and repair two-way radios, pagers, and maintain communication equipment for Emergency Response Personnel
