Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a PC Network Support Technician to join the Melbourne, FL team. The role involves on-site, full-time support for information system lifecycle activities, including ticketing, hardware moves, and basic diagnostics.

Required are a Security+ or higher, DOD Secret clearance, and strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and remote deployment methods. Preferred are VMWare VDI experience and familiarity with ServiceNow/JIRA.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 0+ years.
  • Must have a Security+ certification or greater.
  • Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage tickets for all support incidents, ensuring timely updates and proper documentation.
  • Relocate workstations and equipment between campus buildings to resume operations quickly.
  • Provide basic diagnostics, isolate and analyze hardware and software problems.
  • Resolve technical issues and answer queries by phone, for internal and external users.
  • Assist with security paperwork and maintaining compliance for hardware/software in classified environments.

The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a PC Network Support Technician to support information system lifecycle activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Exhibits good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.

Establishes and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives while adhering to established policies.

Under supervision, performs the following tasks as assigned.

Creates and manages tickets for all support incidents, reviewing trouble ticket queue, ensuring timely updates, accurate documentation, and compliance to resolve tickets within established guidelines.

Performs relocation of workstations and associated equipment for individual users or teams between campus buildings, installing and configuring equipment so operations resume with minimal disruption.

Provide basic diagnostics, identified, isolates and analyzes problems utilizing historical records.

Resolves technical problems and answers queries by telephone, in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software, network, and telecommunications systems.

Uses Active Directory or similar tools to create and unlock user/computer account, perform password resets, following all security policies and procedures

Assist with paperwork and tasks to meet security requirements, adhering to all security regulations for installing, maintaining, and retiring PCs as related to hardware/software, and collaborates with Security to resolve classified data spillage incidents.

Maintains accurate inventory records in the asset tracking system for all hardware assets (PCs, monitors, phones, peripherals, etc.) and updates status whenever equipment is deployed, moved, repaired, or retired.

Possess a technical understanding of service desk and IT Operations fundamentals

Participates in new installations, testing and special projects as needed.

Spend significant portions of the day away from the desk supporting users and moving equipment.

Raises issues that require senior level attention or involvement.

Lifts and moves equipment up to 50 pounds.

This position may filled at a higher level based on the qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

High School diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience is required

Must have a Security+ certification or greater

Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Product Suites, and remote deployment methods

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

High School diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant experience; OR an Associates degree and 2 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience is required

Must have a Security+ certification or greater

Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered

Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment

Experience in Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Product Suites, and remote deployment methods

Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience with IT related hardware in a classified environment
Active Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph
Current HW and/or SW Vendor Certifications

Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs, via SCCM or PowerShell

Experience supporting a VMWare VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) with thin clients

Experience with Active Directory, configuring user and computer accounts

Operating System Cross-platform awareness ((i.e. two or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.)

Knowledge of supporting a VMWare VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA)

Primary Level Salary Range: $44,400.00 - $74,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $52,700.00 - $87,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
