Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Network Communications Administrator to support classified government contracts in Melbourne, FL on-site. The role requires a Secret clearance and a strong background in LAN/WAN, Cisco hardware, and VMware networking fundamentals.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Security+ certification or greater.
  • Current US Government Secret level security clearance required.
  • Ability to obtain access to Special Programs as a condition of employment.
  • Experience designing and maintaining LAN/WAN networks with Cisco hardware.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi networking fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of NISPOM Chapter 8, RMF, STIG, and related frameworks.
  • Experience using network analysis tools (WireShark, SolarWinds, etc.).
  • Experience configuring TACLANES and with Assessment & Authorization processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Network Communications activities for classified government contracts.
  • Maintain LAN/WAN/VPN operations for assigned environments.
  • Plan, design, configure and install network hardware per customer needs.
  • Create and maintain network documentation and operational instructions.
  • Monitor and analyze networks; plan short- and long-range system needs.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance and design network portions.
  • Interface with Infrastructure/Hypervisor teams on configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Develop technical solutions requiring ingenuity; support project designs.
  • Troubleshoot network infrastructure and document components.
  • Install and configure Cisco devices; implement VLANs, trunking, spanning-tree.
  • Provide 3rd-level support and after-hours/weekend coverage as needed.
  • Address WAN technologies (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) and customer timelines.
  • Manage timely resolution of critical issues meeting SLA requirements.
  • Utilize Office tools for documentation and project management.

The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a Network Communications to support information system lifecycle activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform Network Communications activities in support of classified government contracts.
  • Maintains smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs.
  • Plans, designs, configures, and installs network hardware in support of customer requirements.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware / software interconnection, as well as interfacing, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.
  • Proposes solutions to management.
  • Ensures all communication requirements (based on future needs and current usage) are configured to optimize cost savings.
  • Creates and ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provides regular monitoring, and network analysis, regarding short and long-range planning for systems.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment. Designs networks, or portions of networks, including the selection of hardware and software packages.
  • Interfaces with Infrastructure/Hypervisor team during system configuration and troubleshooting of network issues
  • Plan, manage and implement complex network designs in support of customer requirements.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Support network teams in project designs to clarify project requirements, provide design solutions, in accordance with standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis of network infrastructure and associated systems.
  • Document network hardware and software technology components.
  • Install and configure Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, trunking (port tagging), spanning-tree and protocols.
  • Provide third-level support and troubleshooting of network problems. Periodically provide after-hours and weekend support.
  • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.
Implement and troubleshoot WAN technologies such as EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF

Interface regularly with customers and manage customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.

Manage timely resolution of all critical and/or complex problems meeting SLA requirements

Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint and Excel
Basic Qualifications:

Master's Degree with 0 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience is required

Must have a Security+ certification or greater

Candidates must have a current US Government Secret level security clearance in order to be considered

Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment

Must have work experience with designing and maintaining LAN/WAN based networks, managing routing protocols on large LAN environments, and experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls)

Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi networking fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph

Knowledge of NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments

Network administration and analysis of routers, switches, firewalls, and/or VTCs

Experience in the use of network analysis tools (WireShark, SolarWinds, etc.)
Experience configuring TACLANES
Experience with Assessment & Authorization processes

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
