Job summary

JobDiva, Inc. seeks a seasoned PC&IS Engineer (Controls and Instrumentation) to work onsite in Kansas City’s process plant environment. You will lead instrumentation, controls, electrical design, and engineering deliverables while coordinating with customers and offshore teams.

You’ll develop installation packages, specify instrumentation, configure PLC/SCADA systems, and support startup activities. Strong vendor interaction and NFPA 70E readiness are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of instrumentation and control engineering experience.
• Experience as an Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer for industrial plants.
• Strong knowledge of process plant instrumentation specification and selection.
• Experience designing controls and hardware for plant instrumentation monitoring and control.
• Hands-on instrument setup, calibration verification, and adjustments.
• Familiarity with PLC and SCADA systems for industrial networks.
• Experience with LV electrical distribution design and NEC-compliant systems.
• NFPA 70E training or certification is a plus.

Job Description & Skill Requirement:

We are seeking a PC&IS Engineer (Controls and Instrumentation Engineer) to work onsite in a process plant environment in Kansas City. The engineer will be responsible for instrumentation, controls, electrical design, engineering deliverables, customer coordination, construction support, and startup activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as an onsite PC&IS Engineer in a process plant environment.
• Develop power and instrumentation installation designs and engineering packages for industrial plants.
• Define the scope of work with the customer, coordinate with offshore teams, and deliver engineering packages.
• Coordinate with customers to collect all required inputs for engineering design.
• Coordinate with vendors and construction teams to obtain information required for design completion.
• Attend design reviews with customers and construction teams and obtain necessary approvals.
• Support construction and startup activities.
• Lead the electrical startup of process and packaging equipment.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering.
• Experience working as an Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer developing engineering design packages for industrial plants.
• Strong knowledge of process plant instrumentation specification and selection.
• Experience selecting and designing controls and hardware for process plant instrumentation monitoring and control.
• Hands-on experience with instrument setup, calibration verification, and adjustments.
• Experience with:

• Prepare Instrument Datasheets, I/O Lists, Instrument Lists, Wiring Diagrams, and Engineering Information.
• Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems for industrial networks.
• Experience with LV Electrical Distribution Design, including:
  • Power Distribution Panels
  • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
  • Process plant electrical systems compliant with NEC
• Experience with MCCs, VFDs, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical schematics.
• Previous experience with system commissioning and validation is a plus.
• Trained and qualified in NFPA 70E requirements.
