Our Engineering PCB Services Organization supports PCB design for Apple’s Electrical Engineering teams. We seek a motivated individual with deep PCB design knowledge, experience in high-speed design environments, and the ability to collaborate with design engineers to develop complex boards. We believe in technology enablement through collaboration and building extraordinary products.

This role involves working with design teams to develop detailed layouts of rigid and flexible printed circuit boards using CAE and CAD tools. You will coordinate with multiple teams to plan schedules, resolve costs, and address packaging, manufacturing, and electrical design issues.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Studying PCB design trends and implementing applicable processes.
  2. Conducting design feasibility studies for packaging, cost, manufacturing, and performance.
  3. Assisting and training PCB Designers, and understanding Apple’s manufacturing and test standards.
  4. Ensuring quality design standards are met before manufacturing.
  5. Performing complex CAD and CAE tasks under mentorship, utilizing extensive skills and knowledge.
  6. Maintaining technical coordination across engineering, design, test, EMC, and manufacturing teams.
  7. Resolving PCB design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors.
  8. Participating in defining Apple’s Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines.
  9. Discussing and establishing PCB design specifications to meet product, electrical, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of industry experience in designing flex and rigid PCBs.
  • Experience with software tools such as Allegro, Altium, Mentor Graphics.
  • Good understanding of design constraints and basic EE fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PCB certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Allegro software tools and high-volume circuit board design.
  • Experience working with fabrication vendors.

Pay & Benefits:

Base pay ranges from $165,500 to $293,800, depending on skills and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, retirement, stock programs, educational reimbursement, bonuses, and relocation assistance. Learn more at Apple Benefits.
