Job summary

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, Lakeland Village in Medical Lake, WA, seeks a PBX Chief Operator to direct the PBX staff and operations at our communications hub, supporting safety and efficiency.

You will supervise, hire, train, and evaluate staff, manage emergencies, and coordinate with ISSD. Evening and night shifts carry a differential; on-site work three days a week may qualify for a 5% premium. Shift: Mon–Fri 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM.

Qualifications

  • Two years of PBX operator or PBX Security Communications Operator experience.
  • Knowledge of supervisory concepts and personnel management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all PBX staff including hiring, training and evaluations.
  • Write/perform performance evaluations on PBX operators.
  • Complete Daily Activity Report for timekeeping of PBX operators.
  • Disseminate all emergency (STAT) calls related to medical, behavior, fire and disaster.
  • Monitor office equipment for maintenance and repair needs.
  • Monitor campus-wide fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
  • Engage in customer service and public relations for callers, visitors, employees, and clients.
  • Coordinate problems with ISSD affecting switchboard/phone lines.
