Job summary

Gusto in Phoenix is seeking a Payroll and Taxes Customer Care Advocate who will guide small business clients through payroll and tax support, troubleshoot issues, and advocate for customers to influence product decisions. You will interact with customers by email, chat, and live phone shifts, stay current with product updates, and collaborate across teams to deliver exceptional service.

This hybrid, full-time role offers growth in a fast-paced tech environment and requires strong communication

Qualifications

• 1+ years in the payroll industry with knowledge of taxes and wage laws across states.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing role, ideally in contact center, payroll, taxes, or benefits.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Comfortable with GSuite, Mac, Salesforce, JIRA and Slack.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service via email, chat and live phone shifts.
• Stay updated on product features and communicate updates to customers.
• Troubleshoot payroll and tax issues with precision and clarity.
• Collaborate across teams to influence product development and roadmap.
• Maintain a solution-oriented approach with a focus on customer outcomes.
• Adapt to peak periods with flexibility and, if needed, overtime.
