Essential Job Duties |
Join us as a Payroll Tax Specialist (Multi-State) to manage payroll tax compliance across jurisdictions. Reporting to the Payroll Tax Manager, you'll handle reconciliation, reporting, system updates, and cross-department collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with out-of-state tax requirements, manage registrations, filings, and payments.
- Verify wage and tax balances for accurate reporting and filings.
- Identify, research, and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, working with payroll managers.
- Ensure proper taxation of non-salary wages like allowances and tuition waivers.
- Interpret UI laws, file reports, and coordinate payments in applicable states.
- Assist in testing system updates and regulatory changes.
- Create documentation and guides for tax processes.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree with 12 credit hours in accounting, or an Associate's degree in Accounting or Business with 12 credit hours in accounting, or equivalent training/experience. Degrees must be from accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications |
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint.
- Experience with large ERP systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.).
- 941 reporting and payroll processing experience.
- Knowledge of databases and query writing.

Preferred Qualifications |
- PeopleSoft HCM 9.1+, Access experience.
- Tax reporting in organizations with 500+ employees across multiple states.
- Multi-state reporting experience.
- At least 2 years payroll processing experience.
