Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to own payroll tax operations, tax setup, remittance, and compliance. You will process payroll in SAP, post GL entries, reconcile payroll accounts, and coordinate with third‑party vendors to ensure accurate reporting and timely filings.

The role requires 2–4 years of payroll tax experience, expertise in SAP or ADP GlobalView, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2–4 years of payroll experience, including payroll tax.
  • Experience supervising personnel is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in SAP and/or ADP GlobalView.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Progressive payroll and payroll tax experience.
  • Experience with high‑volume payroll, multi‑state locals and SIT reciprocity.
  • Strong customer‑service skills and ability to work confidentially.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

  • Research and resolve agency‑related payroll tax amendments and changes in legislation.
  • Liaise with tax vendors and govern expatriate taxation for Schindler Mobility.
  • Support payroll tax projects, escalations and quarterly/annual reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Represent Payroll as SME in the payroll tax function. Ensure employee tax setups, tax remittance and filing is accurate, timely and compliant. Accountable to ensure adjustments are entered in SAP for all employees and any associated amended returns are filed in accordance.
  • Process assigned payroll through SAP ensuring accurate and timely running of the payroll. Process general ledger entries, reconcile payroll-related general ledger and prepare reports or statements summarizing payroll-related accounts. Interface with third‑party payroll vendors as needed and input changes to employee status, exemptions, withholdings or bank information.
  • Conduct research, analysis and necessary reconciliation to respond to and resolve agency‑related payroll tax amendments. Track, document and communicate changes in trends and/or changes in payroll tax legislation and policy. Act as primary point of contact for prior‑tax‑year requests and research initiatives.
  • Manage the relationship between Schindler tax vendor and regulatory authorities to ensure proper handling of all tax obligations and timely resolution of agency notices. Work with Schindler Mobility and third‑party partners to ensure proper taxation of expatriate employees.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in payroll tax projects, process improvements and updates. Serve as point of contact for payroll tax escalations, finance and audit requests, including quarterly and annual reports, reconciliation or payroll tax account balances, and preparation of W‑2s.
  • Support payroll leaders and the payroll team in broader activities. Act as peer mentor and facilitate training on payroll tax subject matters.
  • Perform payroll accounting within SAP finance system: generate GL from payroll system, validate and post payroll batches, reconcile payroll database with bank statements, reconcile trial balance and balance sheet items related to payroll and benefits accounts, and provide monthly reconciliations of payroll P&L postings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2‑4 years of payroll experience, including payroll tax.
  • Experience supervising personnel is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in SAP and/or ADP GlobalView.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel formula knowledge.
