Job summary

Acumen Fiscal Agents is seeking a Payroll Specialist to deliver precise payroll services for client employees and vendors in a fast-paced environment. You will calculate pay, deductions, and generate checks or direct deposits while maintaining up-to-date payroll records and confidentiality.

Key duties include processing timecards, answering inquiries, and ensuring data accuracy across all payroll reports. Candidates should have strong Excel skills, reliability, and the ability to work weekends

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background in Customer Service, Client Service, Operations, Payroll or Financial systems.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Respectful interaction with others and strong time management.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in time-sensitive environments.
• High integrity and strong business ethics.
• Strong computer skills including Word and Excel, and email.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Willing to work overtime, including weekends, to meet high volume demands.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all client employees and vendors accurately and on time.
• Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the system.
• Handle timecards to generate checks and direct deposits; analyze reports for accuracy.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries; provide policy guidance.
• Update payroll records with exemptions, benefits, deductions, and job data.
• Prepare earnings, tax, deductions, and wage summaries for reports.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies by analyzing information and taking corrective action.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and company information.
• Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
