Job summary

Baker Construction seeks a Corporate Payroll Specialist I to support multi-state payroll processing, ensure accuracy, and maintain payroll records across FEINs. You’ll verify hires, enter data, and balance payroll cycles with confidentiality and attention to detail.

Required: High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years in payroll; strong Word/Excel; Paycor or Vista experience a plus; FPC/CPP preferred. Team-oriented, deadline-driven role in Ohio with good benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ payroll experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing including union payrolls and certified payrolls.
• Proficient in Word and Excel with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a team.
• FPC or CPP preferred; Paycor or Vista experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff across multiple FEINs.
• Verify new hires in the payroll system and enter required payroll data.
• Maintain co-worker payroll records and balance payroll cycles.
• Audit timekeeping records for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Process unemployment, certified payrolls, garnishments, and reports.
• Assist with mailing of all W-2s and requests for duplicates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes.
