Job summary

Asure Software in High Point, NC is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage client payroll needs for small business clients. You will handle weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing, verify tax tables, and ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll data in a fast-paced environment.

The role is on-site in High Point, NC with responsibilities including payroll records management, payroll tax status updates, and generating management reports.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years automated payroll systems experience or equivalent accounting experience.
• Previous payroll experience in a client facing environment.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to deliver under tight deadlines or unusual or critical situations.
• Professional presentation of written information, clear and effective for clients.
• Direct experience in a variety of SaaS payroll systems; ability to learn new ones.
• Background in in-house payroll processing in a small to mid-sized business is highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Calculate paychecks using tax tables.
• Inspect automated system outputs such as registers and standard reports.
• Determine and correct out-of-balance conditions.
• Check and audit timekeeping records for standard compliance.
• Validate time and attendance records from TLM system with payroll.
• Enter new hires into Payroll Central.
• Post changes in pay and tax status.
• Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
• Prepare special reports for management.

This is an on‑site role based out of the High Point, NC area.

How you will contribute

Our Payroll Specialist works to serve our small business clients to manage their changing payroll needs. The face of payroll to a dedicated client base, you partner to deliver expert payroll processing and services. Responsible for establishing and maintaining employee payroll records, they own the activities necessary to provide dedicated quality processing services.

• Process weekly, semi-monthly, and custom calendar payroll.

Compensation

The base hourly range for this position is up to $27.00, based on relevant experience, skills, and industry knowledge.
