Job summary

Health Imperatives Inc. is seeking a part-time Payroll Specialist/General Support in Brockton, MA. The role is 21 hours per week (Mon–Wed) within Administration & Finance, offering a $28.10–$30.10 hourly salary and benefits including medical, dental, and 403(b).

The position entails bi-weekly payroll processing, compliance with wage laws, and collaboration with HR and finance. Requires strong payroll experience and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Associ ate degree or five years of direct payroll experience.
  • Three years minimum in payroll practices and procedures.
  • Experience with automated payroll service.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to accurately perform arithmetical calculations; detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
  • Stay up to date on federal and state wage and labor laws for compliance.
  • Respond to questions and resolve problems concerning time sheets and payroll matters.
  • Run and distribute payroll reports in a timely manner.
  • Prepare salary/payroll information for audits, surveys, and tax returns.
  • Process 403b bi-weekly uploads.
  • Maintain LOA tracking and Paid Leave pools.
  • Prepare monthly payroll journal entries.
  • Process Leave Without Pay accrual adjustments.
  • Reconcile quarterly tax reports and monthly vendor invoices.
  • Provide support to finance and HR as needed.
  • Ad hoc reporting.

$28.10 - $30.10 per hour

DUTIES

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, duties include:

Payroll
  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees. Verify the accuracy of timesheets, expense information, deductions, and other Payroll related information.
  • Stay up to date on all federal and state wage and labor laws for compliance purposes
  • Respond to questions and resolve problems concerning time sheets and other payroll matters
  • Run and distribute payroll reports to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
  • Prepare salary/payroll information for annual audits, surveys, tax returns and other compliance reporting.
  • Process the 403b bi-weekly upload including approval form and upload file to the Empower website
  • Maintain LOA tracking and Voluntary Leave Donation Pool Spreadsheet
  • Prepare and make monthly payroll journal entries for payroll transactions and travel expenses
  • Process Leave Without Pay accrual adjustments
  • Reconcile Quarterly 941 tax reports and monthly benefit insurance vendor invoices
  • Provide support to finance department and HR department as needed
  • Ad Hoc reporting
General Support
  • Perform monthly American Express staff reconciliation/coding process between staff & Accounts Payable
  • Assist with weekly client insurance eligibility process with Third party billing
  • Assist HR as needed
  • Provide backup coverage to front lobby as needed
  • Oversee on-site security/badging systems in partnership with ADT as needed
  • Assist with facility related issues as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in Paylocity
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in accounting functions
