Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Corporate Payroll Specialist to own bi-weekly payroll processing and optimize the ADP Workforce Now system. You will ensure accurate, on-time payroll across the organization and support various HR/payroll processes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3–5 years in HRIS/payroll, plus strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and MS Office. This is a full-time on-site role in Pittsburgh, PA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3–5 years in HRIS/payroll.
• Minimum of four years' experience using payroll software.
• ADP Workforce Now experience required; 3+ years configuring and processing payroll.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of corporate policies and compliance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process company-wide payroll while adhering to local, state, and federal laws.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for HCM data, system configuration, reporting and processes.
• Manage employee and manager self-service features in ADP.
• Process status changes and updates in ADP system and respond to notifications from state agencies.
• Provide support to plant HR on benefit/payroll functions and open enrollment transfers.
• Reconcile payroll expenses with accounting and troubleshoot time and attendance issues.

SMS group is seeking a Corporate Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of our bi-weekly payroll processing and system optimization using ADP Workforce Now.

What you'll do:

• Coordinates and processes company-wide payroll while adhering to the applicable local, state, and federal employment laws
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for HCM data, system configuration, business process configuration and reporting
• Manages the employee and manager self-service features
• Processes status changes and updates ADP system
• Works with ADP representative to understand analytics within ADP system
• Maintains employee benefit files and other record keeping
• ADP cloud document configuration and management
• Provides support to plant HR personnel on benefit/payroll functions
• Processes open enrollment benefit plan transfers. Provides support to online benefit administration for plant employees
• Works with ADP representative to respond to notifications from state agency regarding unemployment claims filed by former employees
• Works with ADP representative to issue annual individual summary of benefits to employees
• Serves as an administrator for Certify. Works with accounting to reconcile payroll expenses
• Works with ADP representative to troubleshoot clock issues dealing time and attendance

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with at least 3-5 years of experience in positions related to HRIS, payroll, IT
• Minimum of four years’ experience using payroll software and processing payroll is required
• ADP Workforce Now experience is required – a minimum 3 years of configuration and payroll processing experience. A combination of similar system experience may be substituted
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization
• Strong computer and database skills
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Products
• Knowledge of corporate policies and compliance
• Demonstrated prior success in achieving results using team driven philosophies
• Demonstrated proficiency in supporting corporate interest to remote site locations and ability to communicate and exercise very positive people skill
