Job summary

CFS in Trumbull, CT is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance and HR team. You will manage payroll for a mid-sized employee population, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing in a not-for-profit environment.

You will maintain payroll records in Paylocity, resolve discrepancies, handle payroll inquiries, and collaborate with HR and accounting to ensure data integrity and confidential handling of payroll information.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in nonprofit organizations.
• Experience using Paylocity for payroll processing and reporting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for approximately 500 employees on a regular schedule.
• Maintain and reconcile payroll data, hours, deductions, and benefits.
• Manage payroll records in Paylocity and generate reports.
• Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations and audits.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting to ensure accurate data and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities Of The Payroll Specialist

• Process payroll for approximately 500 employees on a regular schedule
• Ensure accuracy of payroll data including hours, deductions, and benefits

Preferred Qualifications Of The Payroll Specialist

• 3+ years of experience as a Payroll Specialist, ideally within a nonprofit environment
• Must have experience with Paylocity
• Experience processing payroll for mid-sized organizations (hundreds of employees preferred)
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, compliance, and reporting
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities as a Payroll Specialist
