Job summary

ACWA JPIA in Roseville, CA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team. You will administer payroll operations, ensure timely processing, tax reporting, and compliance while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with remote capability two days per week, full-time hours (40/wk), and a strong benefits package including 100% medical, dental, vision, life insurance and CalPERS retirement.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical professional with experience in payroll administration and accounting. They demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, maintain accuracy and confidentiality, and can independently resolve complex payroll and accounting discrepancies. They are proactive, adaptable, and committed to improving processes while providing excellent service and collaborating effectively with others.

What You’ll Do

• Administer payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing, tax reporting, and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Manage payroll reporting, retirement contributions, and employee benefit remittances while maintaining accurate financial records.
• Reconcile payroll, bank, and general ledger accounts; prepare journal entries and support financial audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of payroll and accounting operations.
