Job summary

Specialty Building Products is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate, timely payroll across multiple states. You will process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff, and maintain records with attention to detail.

Collaborate with HR on hires, changes, and benefits; respond to payroll inquiries and assist with tax filings and audits. Confidentiality and accuracy are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience for hourly and salaried employees preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems; UKG experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Calculate overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay with precision.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions.
• Review payroll registers and reports for accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, pay changes, timekeeping, and benefits updates.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and assist with audits.
• Uphold confidentiality of payroll information.

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states with accuracy and timeliness.

• Serve as a trusted resource for employees, responding to inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and payroll policies with clarity and care.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and assist with internal and external audits.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and protect sensitive employee information at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
