Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Payroll Specialist with strong Workday Payroll and HCM experience to support payroll operations within a large enterprise. The role focuses on payroll processing, validations, reporting, and troubleshooting while leveraging Workday as the ERP platform.

You will work with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations to understand upstream and downstream payroll impacts and ensure compliance across multi-state processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Workday experience with Payroll and/or HCM
• Hands-on payroll processing in a large, complex organization
• Experience in government, public sector, healthcare, or similarly complex environments
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll processes and compliance

Job description

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of Workday experience, specifically supporting Payroll and/or HCM functions
• Hands-on experience processing payroll in a large, complex organization
• Experience working in government, public sector, healthcare, or similarly complex organizations
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll processes and compliance considerations

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Workday Payroll Certification
• Experience within Higher Education or large government entity environments (large universities preferred)
• Power BI experience
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to support employees through payroll inquiries and helpdesk requests
• Experience researching and resolving payroll discrepancies before payroll completion
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data exports, reconciliation, and analysis
• Experience utilizing DocuSign and mail merge functionality
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, conversions, or post-go-live stabilization efforts

Job Description

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist with strong Workday Payroll and HCM experience to support payroll operations within a large, complex organization. This individual will play a critical role in payroll processing, payroll validations, reporting, troubleshooting, and cross-functional support as the organization continues leveraging Workday as its enterprise ERP platform.

The ideal candidate understands not only payroll processing, but also the upstream and downstream impacts payroll has on finance, grants, reporting, accounting close activities, compliance, and employee experience. This person should be highly analytical, self-sufficient, and comfortable investigating payroll issues while partnering with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations.
