Job summary

Barrett Business Services, Inc. (BBSI) is seeking a Payroll Specialist to process high-volume payrolls for 60–80 client companies with varying pay cycles. You will onboard clients, train on payroll software (Salesforce CRM, HRIS) and collaborate on process improvements.

The role reports to the Area Manager and involves travel within 50 miles for client visits and on-site training; a strong client-service mindset and 5+ years of payroll experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a multi-client environment.
• Strong client service orientation and communication skills.
• Experience in process improvement and streamlining.
• Bookkeeping or accounting background is desirable.
• Makes an effort to drive success for clients and business owners.

Responsibilities

• Run high-volume payrolls for 60–80 clients with varied cycles.
• Onboard new clients and train on payroll software and HRIS.
• Identify system options to improve results for clients and BU members.
• Prepare client data reports including headcount, wages, and costing.
