Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process employee payroll data, maintain accurate employee records, and handle inquiries from employees and auditors.
- Responsible for input and verification of data to support timely payroll for assigned employee groups
- Review all hires, terminations, and position changes in payroll information on assigned groups for accuracy
- Assist with preparation of bi-weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reports and documents
- Assist with compilation of audit documents and internal control procedures to align with SBOA best practices and Indiana Code
- Respond to all questions regarding current and historical employee pay documents in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate with offsite locations to ensure absence tracking and payroll timekeeping is accurate and adjust as necessary
- Ensure that payroll is compliant with board policies, federal/state/local tax laws, labor laws, and teacher contract agreements
- Assist with other payroll, benefits, and miscellaneous business-related tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Computer experience required, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and payroll best practices.
- Absolute commitment to confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated punctuality and good attendance.
- Ability to communicate well verbally.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Participate in professional development as assigned.
- High school diploma.
- Accounting/Payroll experience preferred.
