Job summary

Alameda Health System in Oakland, CA is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join the Finance team. You will review timecards, handle tax withholdings, direct deposit setup, and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly, serving as a resource for employee payroll questions.

Working under the Payroll Manager, you will process payments for 5200+ employees, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with HR on process improvements and system upgrades to ensure timely, compliant payroll services.

Qualifications

• Two or more years payroll processing experience in integrated environments.
• High school diploma or GED is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with timecard review, tax withholdings, and direct deposit setup is needed.
• Ability to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Audit payroll on a biweekly basis using Excel.
• Collaborate with Human Resources counterparts.
• Identify and participate in process improvement projects and system upgrades.
• Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions; issue payments.
• Maintain complete and accurate employee files.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries via email.
