Job summary

Hanover Iron Works is seeking a payroll professional to implement, maintain, and review our payroll processing systems for timely and accurate payroll transactions across salaries, benefits, 401k, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

You will ensure updates for new hires, terminations, and pay changes, and process weekly payroll for office and field staff while supporting HR and the Accounting Department.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 3+ years of related experience; leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Responsibilities

• Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, 401k, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Processes weekly payroll for office and field employees.
• Provides assistance to Human Resources as needed.
• Process weekly employee expense reimbursements.
• Files payroll taxes weekly, quarterly, and year-end as well as processing W2's.
• Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Provides assistance to the Accounting Department.
• Downloads and uploads data files weekly for health and dental insurance.
• Processes company credit card transactions.
