Job summary

CoorsTek, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Operations Manager to own U.S. payroll across multiple states for a manufacturing workforce.

You will ensure accurate, compliant processing, tax handling, timekeeping, vendor management, and audit readiness, serving as the subject matter expert on Workday Payroll and UKG/Kronos. This individual contributor role emphasizes automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools while maintaining privacy and SOX controls, collaborating with HR, IT, Finance, and plant

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressively responsible multi-state U.S. payroll experience.
• Hands-on Workday Payroll experience required.
• Hands-on UKG/Kronos Workforce Management experience required.
• Payroll tax compliance, wage and hour regulations, garnishments, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely U.S. payroll across multiple states.
• Own the payroll calendar end to end including quarter-end and year-end close and W-2 issuance.
• Configure, administer, and integrate Workday Payroll and UKG/Kronos with data integrity across time, earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and wage-and-hour regulations.
• Build and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls; lead payroll audits.
• Manage payroll vendors and service levels, filings, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• Develop reporting dashboards to surface anomalies, trends, and compliance risk.
• Investigate complex payroll issues and implement root-cause solutions.
• Collaborate with HRIS, IT, Finance, Tax, Legal, and plant leadership on system releases and integrations.
• Apply automation and AI-enabled tools to improve accuracy and efficiency while protecting privacy.
