You will manage a high-performing team, collaborate with Finance, HR and IT, and drive system enhancements, automation and improved client experience. The role emphasizes leadership, problem-solving and change management in a complex payroll landscape in Ontario.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounting and payroll experience with leadership.
• Degree in Business Administration plus a PCP or CPM designation.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and pensions.
• Experience interpreting collective agreements in a unionized environment.
• Expert-level payroll systems knowledge, especially PeopleSoft.
• Analytical, communication and problem-solving skills with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Lead accurate, timely and compliant payroll operations.
• Provide technical guidance on complex payroll matters.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, union agreements and pension rules.
• Oversee reconciliations, reporting and third-party payments.
• Partner with HR, Finance and IT on system enhancements and testing.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
