Job summary

J.C. Steel Erectors is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee union payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance for all employees.

The role requires strong payroll system knowledge and attention to detail, with a focus on timely payments. As part of the corporate accounting team, you will manage end-to-end payroll, reconcile data with the general ledger, and collaborate with the Controller on employee records, changes, and staffing events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting/finance or HR.
• Proven experience in payroll management within corporate settings.
• Experience with union payroll and related reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GL reconciliation and AP functions.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

Duties

• Prepare reports related to payroll metrics, including labor costs and tax liabilities for management review.
• Assist in accounts payable functions as needed, ensuring proper allocation of expenses related to payroll.
• Support corporate accounting initiatives through account reconciliation processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role within corporate accounting environments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll software systems is essential.
• Familiarity with general ledger reconciliation processes and accounts payable functions.
