Job summary

AccruePartners in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced Payroll Leader to own the end-to-end payroll for 500+ employees across multiple entities.

You will ensure timely and accurate payments, stay compliant with all payroll taxes, garnishments, and reporting, and partner with HR and Finance on benefits and audits.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with full-cycle in-house processing.
  • Experience managing payroll for multi-state and/or multi-entity organizations, preferably 500+ employees.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, garnishments, employee deductions, reporting, and payroll compliance.
  • Experience partnering with HR and Finance on employee benefits, payroll reconciliations, and payroll-related reporting.
  • Proficiency with payroll software, ERP systems, timekeeping systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical abilities, and the ability to manage confidential employee information.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to resolve payroll issues professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Construction, engineering, infrastructure, or project-based industry experience is a plus.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience); CPP certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complete payroll lifecycle for multiple companies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations while managing payroll reporting and filings.
  • Serve as the primary payroll resource for employees, HR, Finance, and leadership by resolving payroll questions and discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate administration of garnishments, deductions, employee benefits, and timekeeping data.
  • Support audits, maintain payroll records, and identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and overall efficiency.
  • Play a critical role in maintaining employee trust through accurate, confidential, and compliant payroll administration.
